June 20, 1996	The constituent assembly was called in Kiev. There was made a decision to set up the UFPAA, was accepted the Statute and elected the first composition of the UFPAA's Council. A.Savchenko was elected as a Head of the UFPAA.
September 4, 1996	The UFPAA was registered.
September 13, 1996	The 1st UFPAA Council meeting was held. There was made a decision to issue a monthly journal "Bulletin of an Accountant and Auditor".
1996-1997	The UFPAA cooperated with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the project "Accounting reforms in Ukraine" under the direction of G.Jones and C.Sheridan.
1996	The formation of regional libraries with professional literature was begun under the aegis of the fund "Eurasia".
1997	The Committee of Accounting Standards and Practices under the direction of S.Golov began drafting of the National Accounting Regulations (Standards) and the legislation of the Law of Ukraine "On Accounting and Financial Reporting".
September 4, 1997	S.Golov was delegated to the Methodological Council of The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
1997	Training and Methodological Centre was founded to implement and popularize the certification programs in Ukraine.
1997	The UFPAA's members took part in the International Congress that was held by IFAC.
November 20, 1997	The decision to begin the document preparation for entry into IFAC was made.
1997	The UFPAA acquired a right to translate and issue IFRS-1997.
October 24, 1997	The 2nd UFPAA Council meeting was held. There were adopted the addresses to the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine, to the President of Ukraine and to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The main aims of the addresses were the necessity of passing the Law of Ukraine "On Accounting and Financial Reporting" and the necessity of changing the Law of Ukraine "On Auditing in Ukraine".
