January 23-24, 2004	International Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors held the international conference in Kiev. More than 100 participants from Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Macedonia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Great Britain, Ukraine, the USA and Uzbekistan took part in this conference. At the conference the process of CAP/CIPA implementation in each country, the first results of this process and the prospects were discussed.
January, 2004	At the annual meeting of the International Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors, that was held in Moscow, a number of important decisions about international practice, standards of accounting and audit and special system of knowledge examination were made.
February 27, 2004	The 8th UFPAA Council meeting was held. For the first time the councilors of the UFPAA's Council and the Inspection Committee were elected by the cumulative voting. At the meeting the strategic project of the UFPAA for 2004-2005 was examined and the address to the President about formalizing the Day of Accountant was accepted.
2004	The UFPAA obtained the license to translate officially IFRS-2004.
May 28, 2004	The all Ukrainian conference "Professional education of accountants: from higher education to professional recognition" was held. In this conference lecturers in accounting, working accountants and financial directors took part. General number of attendees was 120 persons. Every attendee got the copy of "IFRS-2004" translated into Ukrainian by the UFPAA.
2004-2005	The contract of providing training courses between the UFPAA and the project UCAN was concluded. It should be noted that the financial management training was transformed into training "Financial management: accounting and financial statements for Non-Profit NGOs".
2004	The UFPAA put in the tender to carry out research work in the field of law that was held by the Centre of Comparative Law of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. The UFPAA won the tender and by the end of the year has drawn up the time schedule of Ukrainian legislation's adaptation to European Union regulations.
July 16, 2004	The Professional Holiday "The Day of Accountant" was officially recognized by the Decree of the President of Ukraine and celebrated in this status for the first time.
